TDI was founded in 2001 by Terry L. Decker, CFI. Mr. Decker has more than twenty-five years of investigative experience, primarily in the investigation of insurance claims. Although he has conducted investigations in other lines of insurance, Mr. Decker’s focus and expertise is in the determination of fire and explosion origin and cause.

Issued by the International Association of Arson Investigators, IAAI, Mr. Decker is a Certified Fire Investigator (Certificate No: 41-031). In addition, through the National Association of Fire Investigators, NAFI, Mr. Decker is a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator, CFEI. Mr. Decker has qualified many times as an expert witness in fire and explosion origin and cause, and is a former Co-Chair of the IAAI Membership Committee and former Director in the Colorado Chapter of the IAAI, CIAAI.

TDI’s territory includes Missouri (License #: 2011008364), Kansas (License #: D-5284), Colorado, Oklahoma, Utah (License #: G100671), and Wyoming. Some states require licensing to conduct fire and explosion origin and cause investigations and others do not. TDI is licensed where required.

Whether the investigation involves a small, witnessed event or a complex large loss requiring site management and the coordination of interested parties, TDI has the experience.
